TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the numbers for the the Tallahassee metro area's job growth in 2016.
The area has seen overall job growth, with the 1.7 percent growth this year pushing the state to it's highest job total since December 2007.
179,200 of those jobs within the Tallahassee metro area, which incorporates Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, and Jefferson counties, are non- farm salary and wage jobs.
This year, the fastest growing industries were hospitality with 6.1 percent growth, professional services with 3.7 percent growth, other services with 3.4 percent growth, financials with 2.9 percent growth, and healthcare with 2.8 percent growth.
