TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is behind bars after deputies say he exposed his genitals in front of a 9-year-old child's face and drew a knife on a person who confronted him about it.

Solmar Booty, 44, was booked into jail Wednesday.

On July 19, Booty was at a home when another adult saw him expose himself near a child's face, according to a probable cause affidavit.

She and Booty began arguing after the she saw Booty talking to the child and exposing his genitals about 8 to 10 inches from the child's face, the court document said.

When Booty grabbed a knife and approached her, his roommate got between them and punched Booty in the face.

Investigators later learned that Booty told the child that he was going to "show his privates" to him before exposing himself.

Booty declined to provide an investigator a statement about the case, the document said, and left town on July 31. He was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Wednesday and remained there Thursday on a $35,000 bond.

He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and lewd/lascivious behavior with a victim less than 16 years of age.
