Tallahassee man hospitalized after Jefferson County crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been hospitalized in serious condition after crashing into the back of a truck in Jefferson County.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that John Stroup, 64, of Tallahassee was traveling south on Gamble Road Thursday morning while a truck was stopped in front of him at A Frame Lane.

Troopers say Stroup failed to slow down, crashing into the back of the truck.

Stroup was transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. The second driver was uninjured. 

FHP says charges are pending investigation. It is unclear if the crash was alcohol related. 

Troopers was assisted by Wacissa Fire Rescue, Jefferson County EMS, and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
