LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is dead after crashing his car Saturday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:15 a.m. 22-year-old Jonathan Etherton was on North Meridian Road, just north of Chimney Lane, when he ran off the road, eventually crashing into a tree.
Etherton was the only person inside the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A neighbor we spoke with says she has seen a lot of crashes in this area.
"This road has caused so many lives and I don't think it's the curve necessarily," said Rebecca Dickey. "This is a dangerous place, especially with children around. We don't even let the children out the gate when we have children here."
Etherton was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Investigators are still determining whether alcohol was a factor.
