TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is facing felony charges after being accused of sexually assaulting his roommate while she was sleeping.

Christopher Evans, 27, was charged with sexual assault on a victim over the age of 12.

According to documents the incident happened at a home in an undisclosed location. Documents state that Evans had just moved in the apartment a week before the incident.

On March 16 around 1:30 a.m., the victim told police that she awoke to the sound of the shower running, her pants pulled down, and the feeling of Evans touching her.

As soon as the victim realized what was going on, she pulled her sheets over herself and yelled at Evans to "get out." He obeyed, but was later shining a light on the door leading to the victim's bedroom and standing outside of it.

The victim again scolded Evans, telling him that what he'd done was not okay and that she was very uncomfortable.

Unsure of what to do at that moment because she didn't know how Evans would react to the police being called, the victim waited until regular business hours to report the incident.

Documents say the victim agreed to a DNA collection sample.

At first, police were only able to obtain a warrant for battery so on March 21, Evans was arrested on that charge. However, Evans refused to talk to investigators so he was jailed.

The next day, police were able to charge Evans' with sexual assault. His bond is was set at $25,000.

He has entered a conditional plea of not guilty and has been assigned a public defender.
