WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested after admitting to an armed robbery of a local business back in November.

Willie Miller, 23, admitted to robbing the Extract Shak on Jan. 9.

On Nov. 5, the owner of the the Extract Shak in Crawfordville was robbed by Miller and an accomplice, who stole cash and some of the product sold at the business.

When deputies arrived on scene, the suspects had already left.

During the investigation, detectives repeatedly reviewed surveillance video footage, conducted over a dozen interviews of witnesses, interrogated multiple suspects, executed a search warrant for evidence, obtained sworn affidavits from various people, and executed other enforcement actions which generated investigative leads.

Additionally, photographs of the suspects were retrieved from the surveillance video and posted on the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

On Jan. 9, an officer with the Tallahassee Police Department contacted WCSO and said that while investigating an unrelated incident, a witness provided the name of Miller who had participated in the robbery.

TPD and WCSO then interviewed multiple witnesses in Leon County who indicated the robbery had been committed by Miller.

WCSO coordinated with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and arranged to interrogate Miller in the Leon County Detention Center, where he was already being held on charges of violation of probation related to a petit theft charge.

During the interrogation, Miller admitted to robbing the Extract Shak on Nov. 5 and admitted to being the gunman.

WCSO is charging him with robbery with a firearm.

Since Miller was already incarcerated in the Leon County Detention Center, a hold was placed on him to face the charge in Wakulla County.

The investigation is still on-going.
