TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Police are investigating after they searched an apartment and found a large amount of Flakka and an unknown substance they believe could be Fentanyl.

Kerrick Crumitie was arrested on Feb. 15 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking phenethylamines 10 grams or more, dealing in stolen property, and tampering with evidence.

The Tallahassee Police Department says they searched Crumitie's apartment in the 2900 block of Woodrich Drive on Feb. 15.

At first, police say Crumitie tried to run away and flush the drugs down the toilet, but they were able to apprehend him quickly.

During the search, police found over 50 grams of Alpha-Pyrrolidinovalerophenone (A-PVP, also known as “Flakka”), an additional 50 grams of an unknown powder substances, stolen electronics and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say that based on information received from several controversial sources, they were concerned that Crumitie was mixing the drugs with Fentanyl to strengthen them.

While police were able to identify that Flakka was present in the drugs with a field test, they were unable to identify the other powder and rock like substances they found.

Those substances have been sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for analysis. Once the analysis is finished, the results will be shared with the assistant state attorney.
