TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man faces multiple charges for hitting the victim in the head with a hammer after accusing him of stealing his friend's bike.
Kevin Jusino, 31, was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on Friday.
On June 15, at about 9:19 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department went to an apartment on Myers Park Lane in response to a burglary.
When officers arrived on scene they made contact with Jusino.
While talking with officers, Jusino said that his friend allowed him to borrow a mountain bike.
He told officers that he kept the bike in the apartment.
A couple days before, Jusino said he left the apartment to spend time with a friend and when he came back on June 15, he was told by the victim that the bike was missing.
He said the victim did not give any details about the missing bike.
Jusino stated he is only temporarily staying at the apartment and did not have a key.
The police report states, the victim puts a key under the front mat for Jusino to use.
The next day, TPD was called back to the apartment for an aggravated battery.
When officers arrived on scene, they saw the victim bleeding from the head.
The victim told officers that Jusino attacked him. He explained to officers that Jusino doesn't live with him and is essentially homeless, only staying at the apartment sometimes.
According to the police report, the night prior, Jusino accused the victim of stealing the bike.
Jusino then grabbed a hammer and hit the victim in the top of the head.
The victim said Jusino also grabbed a knife and sliced his bike tire.
The victim stated he didn't call police because he didn't have a cell phone.
He described Jusino as crazy and said that he was scared of him.
The police report states, when the victim woke up on June 16, his head hurt so badly that he asked his neighbor to call the police and an ambulance.
Officers stated the blood soaked through the bandanna the victim was wearing and his injury wasn't visible due to his hair being matted with blood.
Based on the evidence, Jusino is being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief under $200.
