TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested after being accused of cutting a victim from his mouth to his ear.

Darius McNeely Jr., 22, was jailed Tuesday.

On Dec. 5, McNeely cut the victim, according to a probable cause affidavit. The cut was approximately 5 inches long and ran from the victim's left side of his mouth to his left ear.

Before being transported to a hospital for stitches to close the wound, the victim told a Tallahassee Police Department investigator that he and McNeely were at a Marathon Gas Station on West Pensacola Street when McNeely confronted him.

The confrontation turned into a minor argument and the victim ultimately walked away from McNeely, the court document said. As he did, McNeely followed him to the bus stop near the Kearney Center.

The victim said that when he turned around, McNeely hit him twice in the face with an unknown object before running from the area. The victim told police he then went to the Kearney Center to seek help because of the cut.

According to documents, officers later went to an apartment and saw a man they believed to be McNeely through an open front window. While McNeely ran to a back bedroom, another person answered the door.

Eventually, McNeely returned and was into custody for aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability. As of Wednesday, McNeely remains in the Leon County Detention Center. No bond amount has been listed.
