TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested for attempted second degree murder in connection to a shooting in Tallahassee.
Brain Walker, 26, was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
On Jan. 24, the Tallahassee Police Department received a call to go to the Greater Mount Zion Church on Saxon Street, to meet with the victim about the incident.
The victim said that she was staying with a friend, while she looked for a more permanent place. Walker was the live-in boyfriend of the friend and according to the victim, and Walker never liked her living there.
On Jan. 24, the victim's friend told her she needed to move out. While the victim was packing, her friend came and confronted her about pouring grease down the kitchen drain.
An argument broke out between the two and while walking down the hallway the victim heard her friend trying to stop Walker for some reason.
In the police report, the victim stated that when she went into her bedroom, she heard what she thought were two or three gunshots.
When the victim turned around, she saw Walker holding a gun in his hand.
As the victim tried to leave the bedroom, Walker grabbed her by the neck and threw her down on the bed. The victim tried to get back up, but Walker threw her down against the bed and dresser.
The victim said one of those times she hit her head on the side of the dresser.
Eventually the victim was able to get away and leave. While she was driving away, the victim saw Walker point his gun at her and shoot.
The shots went through the front window and out of the driver's window of her car, causing both windows to shatter. The victim said she didn't know what to do, so she drove off and pulled into the church parking lot and called 911.
During an interview with police, the victim's friend admitted that she and the victim got into an argument, but denied seeing any physical altercation or shooting.
A witness told police he was on the phone with the victim while she was packing her things. He claimed to hear banging and the victim saying,"Stop! Stop!" He heard Walker saying, "Yeah, yeah, told you not to try me."
The witness said he got into his car and drove to the home to check on the victim. But while driving, the victim called and said Walker had shot at her.
The witness then pulled over into a church parking lot, which was across the street from the residence. That's when he saw Walker coming his direction.
The witness said Walker pointed a gun at him and said, "Oh, you want it too?" The police report stated that they were about 100 feet apart, so the witness drove off, and heard Walker's girlfriend telling Walker to follow him.
Police say the victim had cuts on her neck and a lump on her head from the incident but did not suffer any gun shot wounds.
A warrant for Walker's arrest was issued on Feb. 20 and he was taken into custody on Thursday. As of Friday, he remains in jail on a $52,500 bond.
