TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee League of Women Voters toured the Leon County Elections Center Wednesday as a joint field trip.
Several dozen members heard demonstrations of the software used to tally and audit election results.
They were able to go through the process from casting a ballot to how it is stored and processed at the main election center.
Members got a behind the scenes look at the warehouse where the ballot boxes are stored and tallied.
The League of Women Voters wanted to see what safety measures are taken to ensure a proper election.
"Once you put in your ballot what happens to your ballot? We want to see where does it go? How do they ensure security? How do they make sure these are free and fair elections? So we're going to go with the staff and see what happens to the ballot," said Teri Cleeland of the Tallahassee League of Women Voters.
