TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Early Saturday morning people came out to Cascades park to be a part of the 28th annual Aids Walk.

About 200 people participated in the walk.

The event does not only raise awareness, but according to organizers the walk will raise about 20,000 dollars for Big Bend Cares client services.

Organizers say its wonderful that the community comes out and supports the cause.

"It means everything, I mean this cause really community based at its heart and it is something I think needs to continue to be that way, because taking care of the people who are most effected by medical needs in our community is something that does take everyone," said Kathryn Bachman, Director of Support Services at Big Bend Cares.

People were also able to get rapid HIV testing on site, as well as learn more about the disease.
