TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - This year goes in the record books as the hottest on record!
The average temperature in 2015 was 71.7°. This shatters the old record set back in 1933 of 70.8°. Tallahassee's records go back to the early 1890's.
It's not too surprising that it's the hottest year. April and November were the hottest months on record and July fell a tenth of a degree shy of the hottest as well!
Also, in December, Tallahassee had nine days at or above 80°, the most ever recorded for the month.
Other major regional cities marking 2015 as their hottest on record include Fort Myers, Gainesville, Key West, Miami, Montgomery, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.
