TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Students have spent the whole summer learning valuable skills thanks to the Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy.

While this summer's program will come to an end Friday night, organizers are already thinking ahead.

WTXL ABC's Jada Williams was live Friday morning with more details on how you can get involved.

TFLA organizers say they are already on the lookout for potential partners for 2019.

These partners will take in the participants and teach them all about their line of work throughout next summer.

Here's a look at the participants hard at work this summer.

Jobs varied from working in government to the private sector and even non-profits.

The program helped 225 teens this summer. That's more than double what they started with in 2015.

The program allows teens to spend the summer making money and becoming skilled in a field of their interest.

"What's very exciting is some of our TFLA folks have gone on to be hired by the businesses they worked for," said Jamie Van Pelt, the mayor's chief of staff. "That's huge for us because it's bolstering our private sector folks and helping our local economy, which is the fastest growing in the state."
