TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) has put out a fire on Meridian Street. It happened about 8:52 p.m. tonight.
Lt. Mike Bellamy, TFD Public Information Officer, says crews arrived on scene to heavy fire in a building. They were able to put it out in about 10 minutes.
Lt. Bellamy estimates the fire caused about $40,000 in damages. No one was home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross has been called in to help the tenants. The Fire Marshal is currently on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
