Tallahassee Firefighter Killed in Overnight Accident

JEFFERSON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- A Tallahassee Fireman is dead after being hit by a car while parked on the side of a road in Jefferson County on Sunday night around 6:55. 

 According to Florida Highway Patrol, Joe Louis Forbes was traveling northwest on Texas Hill Road when he hit Captain Bradley Allen Deanda who had parked on the side of the road with headlights on and the engine running.

Troopers say Deanda was taking off his hunting gear outside of the vehicle when Forbes struck him and his car.

Jefferson County EMS pronounced Deanda dead on the scene of the crash. Officials say charges are pending an investigation.
