TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department has a new piece of equipment coming, a cardiac monitor.
WTXL ABC's Jada Williams was live Wednesday morning with details about it.
TFD will receive a new cardiac monitor to take when they respond to calls where someone may be having heart problems.
Seven of the 16 stations are advanced-life support stations, meaning they have cardiac monitors that make all the difference when in a life or death situation.
Now thanks to a donation from firehouse subs, one more station will receive that equipment to use when responding to a call.
"This is one of the most expensive pieces of equipment that they use," said Tallahassee City Commissioner Curtis Richardson, "the heart monitor, and so this will save the city of Tallahassee $28,000 in the cost for that monitor."
Details about the monitor will be discussed Wednesday night at the City Commission meeting.
