TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- It's been a year since a Tallahassee boy, Mason Rhinehart, was stabbed by his grandmother inside his Killearn Lakes home. And now his family is looking to start a foundation in his honor.
The foundation is called "A Friend of Mason's".
"We've had so much support this year and we just want to be able to give back whatever we can to help others", said Spring Rhinehart, Mason's Mother.
His Father, Zack White says,"We want to help families with shelter, food, money and to be a good counselor because we know what its like to lose a child."
Martha White's case management is set for August 25th at 8:30 A.M. But the Rhinehart family is celebrating little Mason's life all weekend.
Friday, until 10 P.M., all Nuberri Frozen Yogurt locations are celebrating little Mason's 8th birthday with 25% of proceeds will go to the foundation. And Saturday, August 8th, at Restoration Place Church, the celebration continues from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M.
Mason's parents are welcoming friends and family to come out and have a little fun in honor of Mason and his birthday.
