TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- The City of Tallahassee is continuing the summer youth employment program known as the Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy. This time around, the city hopes to get more business involved.
“At its core, the Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy presents our community’s young people with the opportunity to learn and grow in a way that will greatly impact their future,” Mayor Andrew Gillum said. “By hiring these youths for the summer, businesses will provide a spring board that will propel them into becoming productive, well-rounded adults.”
Nearly a dozen local businesses have already committed to host TFLA participants this summer; however, with nearly 200 student applications received, there are more opportunities for local businesses to participate, said the city.
If you manage a business that would like to host a TFLA participant, please fill out a business application on Talgov.com. More student applications are expected as the registration deadline has been extended.
