TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Dream Defenders organized a protest in front of the Leon County Courthouse Thursday morning, rallying against the tazing incident involving a TPD officer and a Frenchtown resident.

According to the Dream Defenders, the rally's goal was to demand State Attorney Willie Meggs to prosecute TPD officer Terry Mahan, who used a taser on 61 year old Viola Young on October 1st.

Officer Mahan is currently on administrative leave, according to TPD.

Brian Marshall, president of the FSU Dream Defenders, says that TPD should be held at a higher responsibility: "It seems like the Tallahassee Police Department is doing more to protect themselves than to provide justice to the people of this community."

After the rally, the Dream Defenders said that they marched into the court house to deliver Attorney Meggs a letter, asking him to prosecute the officer.
