TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A City of Tallahassee crew returned home in time for Christmas dinner after helping to restore power in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The crew had spent three weeks working to restore power in communities devastated during the hurricane season.

In St. Croix, the crew worked 14-hour days, seven days a week. The island had one of the highest percentages of customers without power.

The return home of this crew, the second, comes days after the third crew went to the islands to continue power restoration efforts.

The crews are working as part of a mutual aid agreement coordinated under the Florida Municipal Electric Association.
