TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Community Healing Coalition starts a weekend-long event.
It's the 6th annual Tallahassee Community Healing Day. The theme for the weekend is "Building a Better Black Community."
Topics include interpersonal connections, domestic violence, and health improvement through family activities. The level of crime in the area and the need for mental health awareness will be also addressed.
The goal is to build strategies to help uplift and empower the community.
The event is free and open to the public it starts at 6 p.m. Friday night at the Providence Neighborhood Center.
