TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Congressman Steve Southerland was in Tallahassee Wednesday discussing ways Congress can help promote growth for small businesses.

Small business owners and community leaders were able to discuss pro-growth policies and wanys Congress can help small businesses create jobs.

The goal is to create a healthier more secure local economy.

Congressman Southerland stresses it's small business that keep the country thriving.

"This is where the rubber meets the road, and so to be able to meet with the local leaders and the people that live their lives and raise their children and have their businesses and people that have the local jobs. Those are the people that matters most, no body in Washington D.C. votes for you."

The Main Street Growth and Opportunity Coalition recently launched in Florida and is part of a nationwide effort that includes 14 other states.
