TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - At Wednesday's Tallahassee City Commission meeting, one of the items up for discussion is whether or not to raise the cost of vehicle towing.
According to the meeting agenda, towing company representatives are asking the city to raise the rate from $88 to $110.
This is not the first time a rate change proposal has been made in recent years, but the last time the city raised the rate was in 2005 where it went from $80 to $88.
In addition to asking for the overall rate increase, the companies are asking that the daily storage fee to be raised from $15 to $25 a day and administrative fees to increase from $33 to $45.
The public will be allowed to comment on the agenda item at the meeting. Commissioners will have the option of either approving the increase, changing the amount or not adopting the ordinance at all which will leave fees at their present amount.
