TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Commissioners will review plans for Tallahassee's 2019 city budget on Wednesday.
WTXL ABC 27's Karah Bailey has the details.
Tallahassee City Commissioners plan to review the budget proposed for Fiscal Year 2019 in their 1 p.m. workshop Wednesday.
The $738 million budget allocates for top priorities including public safety, economic development, infrastructure and affordable housing.
The budget also allows for plans to add a new law enforcement campus on the Southside and add a second Senior Center.
$157 million will be reserved in the City's general fund.
"Well, there won't be any cuts," said Mayor Pro Tem Curtis Richardson. "And the good news is we won't be raising taxes. Our millage rate will remain the same, at 4.1. And so we will balance the budget out of revenue that will be coming in to the city. We expect some additional revenue from the increase in property taxes just based on the increase in value of property, but we will not be considering a tax increase."
Commissioners compiled the budget based on citizen input and feedback and centered it toward making Tallahassee an All American City.
