TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee charter school is expanding. The School of Arts and Sciences is breaking ground on a new addition to its Thomasville Road campus. The school bought the adjacent property to its campus.
The school is building a 12,000 square foot facility, which includes adding a dozen classrooms and other improvements to the school setting.
School officials hope to increase their enrollment from their current 270 students to over 400.
The school, which offers grades kindergarten through eighth, currently has over 1,000 names on the waiting list.
Construction is expected to be complete in February of 2017.
