TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – How does college sports influence Tallahassee’s economy? How can blogging help a business grow?

Those are just a few of the focal points as more than 500 local business and community leaders gather this weekend for Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce’s annual Community Conference.

WTXL ABC27 is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s sold out event being held at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.

The annual event brings business and community leaders together in a setting where big picture ideas are pitched and where we learn where Tallahassee’s business climate is headed in the future.

What happens this weekend could have a long lasting impact on those who call Tallahassee home. WTXL’s Greg Angel will lead our team coverage of the event with live broadcast coverage on ABC27 and coverage online. For updates throughout the event, be sure to check out WTXL.tv’s special conference page and our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. You can also follow updates on social media using #TALACC2014.

The two-day event kicks off Friday with a day full of speakers and breakout sessions scheduled for Saturday. (Click HERE for the full schedule of events)

Florida A&M University President, Dr. Elmira Mangum, will give an update on the future of the university.

Saturday, First Commerce Credit Union will announce who will headline this Fall’s Power Forward Speaker Series, sponsored by WTXL ABC27. Last year’s speaker was Barbara Corcoran, real estate mogul and star of ABC’s Shark Tank.

Watch ABC27 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday for live coverage from Amelia Island from the 2014 Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Community Conference.
