TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Bar Association is in the middle of their second annual Backpack Drive.

This year, the group set an early goal of 250 backpacks and they've already collected 200.

Last year, the backpacks went to Nims Middle School and this year the backpacks will go to Leon County High School, and possibly other schools, depending on how many they can collect.

"We had a really good response from Nims Middle School last year. They were ecstatic to see the number of backpacks that we were able to raise.

Just the enjoyment of helping out the community and giving back," said Bill Gwaltney, Community Outreach Chair for the Tallahassee Bar Association. "The Tallahassee Bar Association joined in on this in full force as a way for our membership to get more involved in the community. To show the community we actually care."

You still have time to donate to the backpack drive.

Collections will be happening through Wednesday, Aug. 8 and the backpacks will be delivered on Thursday, Aug. 9.

You can drop backpacks off at TBA's office at the Leon County Courthouse, Suite 108, or order online and ship directly to TBA's office.

For more information, you can contact Gwaltney at 850-212-6877 or Joann Gore at TBA's office at 850-702-5008.
