TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Friday was the last day for many young dancers in Tallahassee Ballet's annual summer workshop series Turning Pointe.

For the past two weeks, dancers got the opportunity to train with some of the most elite dance instructors in the country.

The workshop program is designed to provide in-depth coaching and training for experienced dancers focusing on proper alignment, style, and classical technique.

"Summer Intensive here is really special because we bring in guest artists from all over the country that are especially renown in their field, whether it's ballet or contemporary or hip-hop," said Janet Pichard, the CEO of Tallahassee Ballet. "We offer the dancers something they're not gong to get anywhere else."

The Tallahassee Ballet is hoping this workshop will help dancers develop skills that will inspire these young ballerinas to pursue futures within the dance industry.
