TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Ballet is getting ready for its famous Nutcracker performance and Sunday, WTXL got a chance to go behind the scenes.

The ballet company invited a group of raffle ticket winners to see the dancers practice for the show and check out how the costumes are made.

The Nutcracker's artistic director said  this gives people a better idea of how much work goes into every performance.

"Everybody wants to be a part of something that you can touch it, see it, can taste it, you can smell it but, then again also, they don't quite understand the amount of work that goes into, but it's wonderful to have and open our doors to people who have never seen dance up close and personal," said Tyrone Brooks.

The show will include a special guest performer, Tallahassee mayor-elect John Dailey.

The first show will be Saturday, December 8, at the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
