TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For many restaurants in downtown Tallahassee, business can be slow during the summer.

WTXL ABC's Jada Williams was live this Monday morning with more details on how the Downtown Improvement Authority is trying to change that.

The Downtown Improvement Authority is giving out punch cards, and when you get all eight slots punched, you'll be entered into a drawing to win some pretty cool prizes.

Eleven downtown restaurants are participating in the Lunch Downtown Giveaway. Those

restaurants include Harry's, Andrew's, The Edison and Brick Haus.

Prizes range from tickets for FSU football to a Downtown Staycation and gift cards to downtown restaurants.

This giveaway is not only benefitting those participating, but also the businesses.

"July is the slowest month of the year," said Paige Carter Smith of the DIA. "Many of our downtown restaurants rely on the legislative session for their business. This is a way to boost the economy and encourage people who work downtown to get out when it's so hot and miserable for a reason other than eating."

These can be picked up at the Visitor Center or participating restaurants. The Giveaway ends August.
