TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Firefighters say one person has been hospitalized after a fire at a local apartment complex.
TFD was called to a fire at Windrush Village Apartments on Victory Drive just after midnight on Saturday morning.
Just minutes after arriving, fire crews entered the first floor of the building and extinguished the fire.
TFD says one victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. No other injuries were reported.
Firefighters say the cause of the blaze appears to be from a cooking fire that started in the kitchen.
This incident is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshall Office.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and Tallahassee utilities.
