TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce recognized two local businesses Thursday for their investment in the community, while marketing their work across the country and around the world.

The chamber celebrated Syntech Systems and TeligentEMS as part of its #GrowTLH initiative.

Tallahassee-based Syntech provides fuel management systems to the U.S. Department of Defense for over 35 years. The City of Tallahassee is also one of Syntech's clients.

TeligentEMS, based in Havana, has been working with Syntech for several years and employs more than 100 individuals.

While their clients aren't local, Syntech CEO Doug Dunlap says he's proud to do business here.

"The overall economic wellbeing is magnified as a result of the way we do business," Dunlap said. "We're constantly developing the next generation of technology for our customers."

The chamber kicked off the #GrowTLH initiative in January. It will continue to highlight local businesses every other month.
