T-Mobile: 'Personal information may have been exposed' in data breach

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The cellular phone company T-Mobile is warning customers that their personal information may have been made vulnerable after a recent data breach.

According to a statement published by the company, an unauthorized breach was discovered on Aug. 20.

Financial data, passwords, and social security numbers were not involved. The breach only applies to personal information.

... you should know that some of your personal information may have been exposed, which may have included one or more of the following: name, billing zip code, phone number, email address, account number and account type (prepaid or postpaid).

T-Mobile says the breach was reported to authorities immediately, and the company is in the process of notifying all customers.
