TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee and Leon County officials are honoring area girls as part of the "Year of the Girl" series.
Each month one girl is honored in Leon County who's going above and beyond.
For March, Wren Cavano, an eighth grader at Swift Creek Middle School, is the honoree.
As well as excelling in academics, she spends her summers helping train animals who need adopting.
A new girl will be honored every month for the remainder of the year.
