SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two McAlpin residents have been arrested after a SWAT team searched their home and found multiple stolen guns, a stolen truck and meth. 

On Monday, the Suwannee County SWAT Team assisted investigators with the Suwannee and Columbia County Sheriff’s Offices in executing a search warrant at a home in the 14000 block of C.R. 349.

When they searched the home, investigators discovered 12 guns inside the master bedroom, two of which were stolen from Columbia County. They also found 20 grams of meth, cannabis, assorted drug paraphernalia and ammo.

In the yard, investigators say they found a stolen 2004 GMC pickup truck. A stolen AR-15 style rifle was also located in the in the cab of the truck.

Through an investigation, authorities learned that one of the suspects, 54-year-old Joseph Wainwright, Jr., knowingly purchased the stolen guns. He also knowingly bought the stolen truck for $1,000. 

Deputies note that Wainwright, who was last released from prison in March 2017, is a convicted felon and is prohibited from having guns or ammunition. 

Ashley Kaye Hancock, 29, was also arrested as a result of this investigation. Wainwright and Hancock were transported to the Suwannee County Jail. 

Wainwright has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine (over 14 grams), dealing in stolen property, grand theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of less than 20 grams cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
