SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Suwannee County Fire Rescue posted on their Facebook page that a large brush fire occurred on Thanksgiving Day, causing about 35 acres of field and pine trees to be burnt.
SCFR said that it was notified of the western Suwannee County fire around 1:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a large brush fire with several hay bails on fire. The fire was also beginning to catch a large area of planted pine trees.
Both SCFR and the Florida Forest Service were able to control the fire, but not before about 35 acres of field and pine trees were burnt.
They said the cause of the fire is believed to be caused from a tractor that was bailing hay. They said that no buildings were damaged in the fire.
