SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Suwannee County firefighters, police, and school board members participated in an active shooter drill at Branford Elementary School.
The Suwannee Fire Rescue said on their Facebook page that the drill was ran like a real-life scenario for teachers and staff as well as for first responders. They said these drills are essential to making sure firefighters and police are ready in case a real life tragedy happens.
According to the Suwannee Fire Rescue, the emergency personnel was given little information prior to their arrival to the drill and school staff were directed to follow safety protocols.
