SUWANNEE COUNTY (WTXL) - A crash in Suwanee County leaves one dead this weekend. A traffic homicide investigation is underway as authorities search for the driver who left the scene of the fatal accident.
The crash happened at the intersection of County Road 250 in Suwannee County last night after a vehicle turned in front of another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle who initiated the crash left the scene by foot. The crash occured shortly after 9pm.
K-9 Units, Suwannee, and Hamilton Correctional assisted in the the search for the driver. The driver still has not been located and no identity has been released.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to UF health in Live Oak by a medical helicopter where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is still open pending the traffic homicide investigation.
