SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - A daughter is putting together a campaign to help raise money after her parents retirement home goes up in flames.
Suwannee County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire Tuesday on Hwy. 247 in Branford. According to a report, an unoccupied wood frame home had been burning for some time before a passing motorist reported the incident. By the time crews arrived on the scene the structure had been fully engulfed in flames. Despite the firefighters' efforts, the house sustained heavy damage and was a total loss.
The home belongs to Larry and Connie Henderson who were traveling at the time of the fire. The couple hadn't officially moved into the home.
Their daughters have put together a fundraiser to help pay for associated costs and are hoping to raise $10,000. So far they have raised $2,100.
