TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A wanted man found living inside a Tallahassee apartment complex's gym has been arrested in connection to seven different burglaries.
Sunday night, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Highlands apartment complex on Green Tree Lane.
When officers arrived, they say they found a man named Justin Evans inside the complex's gym. Officers discovered that Evans had been living in the gym for a while and had a warrant out for his arrest.
TPD says they found drugs, electronics, credit cards with different names on them, and other items in Evans' possession. They later found out those stolen items belonged to multiple victims in the area.
An investigation revealed that the items had come from residential and vehicle burglaries around the apartment complex and homes close to the gym. As a result of the investigation, they were able to connect Evans to seven different burglaries.
Evan was charged in the seven cases and was also charged with providing a false name, possession of cannabis and a Schedule II controlled substance.
Investigators are asking anyone who believes they are a victim of burglary, but have not reported it, to call TPD at (850) 891-4200. Anyone with information about these cases may also call Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS if they wish to remain anonymous.
