VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - According to the Valdosta Police Department, a suspicious package was reported outside of Perimeter Self Storage at approximately 10:00am on Tuesday, December 9.
The storage company reported the package when they saw what looked like a wire sticking out. Valdosta Police says that officers also noticed that it looked like an explosive device. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Bomb Unit investigated the area.
The Valdosta Police Department blocked off a portion of Inner Perimeter Road, and surrounding businesses were evacuated.
The bomb unit that there were no explosive materials present.
Valdosta Police are still investigating.
