GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is encouraging residents to be on alert to a recent telephone scam.
GCSO said the suspects are calling residents posing as a deputy or employee of the sheriff’s office by telling victims they have failed to show up for jury duty and they need to pay a fine.
GCSO stated they will not call residents requesting money for a fine or a warrant.
Residents should never give personal information or account information over the telephone unless they are initiating the phone call and confident they are speaking with a trusted source.
