CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The suspects in an attempted abduction in Cape Girardeau may be connected to a homicide investigation in Chamblee, Georgia.

According to a release from the Chamblee Police Department, officers went to a home there Thursday night as a follow-up to the abduction in Cape Girardeau.

The vehicle used in the kidnapping is registered to Abraham Jacobs who did not match the suspect description provided by the woman who was abducted. Officers believed Jacobs' vehicle had been stolen and may have been a victim of a crime.

Investigators tried to make contact with Jacobs at his apartment but were not successful.

One of the suspects in the kidnapping was identified as John Czarnecki who is believed to be friends with Jacobs. Officers went to Czarnecki's apartment to see if he was home. When he didn't answer the door, officers got a search warrant for Czarnecki's apartment.

Investigators found Jacobs' body inside.

Czarnecki has not been charged in connection to Jacobs' death, but he is wanted for the theft of Jacobs' car. He is also wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service for an outstanding probation violation warrant.

According to Captain Ernesto Ford with the Chamblee Police Department, officers are also trying to find Czarnecki's girlfriend, Sally Noe McIntyre, who may also be in danger.
