TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A suspect stole wrapped Christmas presents from unlocked vehicles in Tallahassee.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, a suspect stole wrapped presents out of unlocked vehicles Sunday night.

TPD said one victim arrived from out of town and forgot to lock their car doors. The suspect unwrapped each gift and didn't want the children's toys he found, so he threw them into the drainage ditch and wooded area near the home.

The toys were later found by officers.

TPD stated the suspect then found another unlocked vehicle at another home and stole a child's school work folder. The suspect was scared off when the homeowner came outside.

The suspect then fled on foot and threw the folder in the middle of the road.

Officers were able to find all the stolen Christmas presents and returned them to the family.

TPD says please remember to lock your doors and secure your valuables even in all the excitement of the holidays.
