MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - A suspect has been apprehended in a January attempted burglar-battery case, according to Madison County Sheriff's Office.
Walter Bryan Eller was arrested after a multi-county search; leading deputies to solve multiple crimes believed to be committed by the suspect.
On January 6, deputies say the suspect was trying to break and enter into a home that was under renovation, when he was discovered by a neighbor.
He then attempted to stab the neighbor with a screwdriver and, after struggling for several minutes, fled the scene, says the Sheriffs office.
After the incident, the officer assigned to the case conducted interviews and had an illustration of the assailant made.
The officer also found, upon investigation of other county crime reports, that similar cases popped up in Thomas, Lowndes, and Brooks Counties.
Deputies say Eller was then stopped by officials in Thomas County and after confessing to his crimes, was charged.
Eller currently resides in the Thomas County Jail, but, according to the Sheriff's Office, is expected to be extradited to Florida.
