SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The suspect in the shooting of a woman at the Busy Bee in Live Oak has been arrested, the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Leonard Otis Cooks Jr., 28, was found hiding at an apartment in Lake city about 2 a.m. Monday morning, the SCSO said in a Facebook post. He is being held in the Columbia County Jail.
Sheriff Sam St. John said Cooks shot his former girlfriend twice in the chest in the parking lot at the Busy Bee on Highway 129 in Live Oak.
The shooting happened last Tuesday.
Deputies say the victim was transported to a hospital in Gainesville to receive medical attention.
She was in critical condition.
