TAYLOR CO., Fla. -- A man is facing charges after a murder in Taylor County, according to Captain Ron Rice with TCSO.
The investigation began on Friday, February 8, after deputies received a call about a physical disturbance at a home on Pharo Morgan Road. When they arrived, they saw the suspect, 40-year-old Patrick Alexander Wilkinson. Wilkinson was reportedly driving a truck away from the scene, and he and the truck were stained with blood.
After deputies stopped him from leaving, they found the victim, 40-year-old Ashley Wayne Adams, lying on the ground near a tree in the back yard. He died at the scene.
Taylor County Investigators arrived shortly after and began to question eyewitnesses. They discovered that the Adams and Wilkinson were drinking when they began to fight. As the fight escalated, the Wilkinson reportedly began to beat Adams in the head with a gardening tool until law enforcement arrived.
Wilkinson is charged with First Degree Murder and is being held without bond at the Taylor County Jail.
