New Orleans, LA (WTXL) -- The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that BP must continue to pay claims from the fund established after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
These payments must be made while the company appeals terms of its settlement with some businesses.
BP originally appealed the rulings that businesses don't have to prove they were harmed by the spill directly to collect money.
The claims fund was set up after a BP oil well off the Louisiana coast blew out in 2010 and oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico for nearly three months.
