ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Supreme Court is recommending that a Seminole County judge be suspended without pay for 30 days.
The order recommending Judge Debra Krause's suspension was issued Wednesday.
The recommendation stemmed from a Facebook post in which Krause suggested a woman who defeated her husband in a judicial race was a liar.
In issuing the order, the justices rejected an earlier agreement between Krause and the Judicial Qualifications Commission, which polices state judges.
The earlier deal combined the Facebook case with another case involving campaign violations in 2012. Under the deal, Krause's proposed punishment would be a $25,000 fine and a public reprimand for both cases.
But the Florida Supreme Court order on Wednesday said the two cases should be handled separately.
